Privacy Policy
Summary
The short version: we don't collect or store anything you type into the GST calculator. Calculations run locally in your browser. We use minimal aggregate analytics (page-view counts only, no cookies, no personally identifying data). When advertising is enabled later on supporting articles, third-party ad networks may set their own cookies under their own privacy policies.
What we collect
- Amounts you enter into the calculator: never. They exist only in your browser tab and disappear when you close it.
- Account data: none. GSTBox has no accounts and no signup.
- Aggregated analytics: we may use a privacy-respecting analytics tool (such as Plausible) that records page-view counts and approximate country, but does not set cookies and does not identify individual users.
- Server logs: our hosting provider (GitHub Pages, Cloudflare) may keep short-term server logs of IP addresses for abuse prevention, retained according to their policies.
Cookies
GSTBox does not set any tracking cookies. Your browser may store your theme preference (light or dark) in localStorage on your device — this never leaves your computer. If advertising is shown on supporting pages later, the ad network may set its own cookies (see "Advertising" below).
Advertising
We may use Google AdSense in future to display ads on supporting articles (not on the calculator itself). Google and its partners use cookies to serve ads based on a user's prior visits to this and other websites. You can opt out of personalised advertising at Google Ads Settings.
For visitors in regions with cookie consent laws (EU, UK, India's DPDP Act), we will present a consent banner before any non-essential cookies are set.
Third-party services
- GitHub Pages serves the static site. GitHub Privacy.
- Google Fonts serves the Inter and JetBrains Mono fonts. Google Privacy.
- Cloudflare (optional CDN). Cloudflare Privacy.
Your rights
If you are in India, EU, UK, California, or another jurisdiction with data protection laws, you have rights regarding your personal data — including the right to access, correct, or delete it. Because we don't collect personally identifying information, there is generally nothing to access or delete on our side.
Children
GSTBox is suitable for general audiences and does not knowingly collect data from anyone under 13.
